The FOTHSCI Board would like to extend a warm welcome to Trumbull HIgh School Choir Director – Chris Wasko!

He is a UConn graduate, presently in a doctoral program at Teachers College at Columbia University. Mr. Wasko has been a choir and general music teacher at Eastern Middle School in Riverside (i.e. Greenwich), CT for the past six years, and the assistant director of Tapestry Choir in New York City for the past four years. Last summer he was the assistant conductor of the A Viva Voce Festival Chorus (led by John Daly Goodwin, the former director of the New York Choral Society) during their concert tour of Ireland, a fitting tour for him based on his undergraduate thesis/University Scholar project on Irish rebel songs (three of which he arranged for SATB choir; two are for sale with the Irish music publishing company Seolta). He is the current Middle School Repertoire & Resources Chair for the Connecticut Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, and was the Choir Chair for the CMEA Western Region Middle School Festival for the past four years. In 2018, Mr. Wasko was the guest conductor for the Connecticut Technical High School System All-District Choir festival, and in 2016 he performed as a choir soloist at Carnegie Hall.
